A Little Money and Luck

Have you eaten your black eyed peas and cabbage yet today?

"Whatchu talkin' bout Courtney?" (you say in your Gary Coleman voice)

I don't know about other parts of the world, but down here in the good ole South we have a tradition.
And that tradition is you eat black eyed peas and cabbage on new years.
Why you may ask?
Well legend has it that eating cabbage brings you money and black eyed peas bring you luck.

It's a silly superstition but it's one we keep in my family.
I actually just got back from my parents house eating some good cabbage and black eyed peas.

Mmmm!
I LOVE me some cabbage!
Not too keen on black eyed peas as you can tell.
Guess I won't be that lucky this year.

I told Skyler (the boyfriend) I was going to go eat some today.
He told me superstitions were dumb.
Oh yeah?
Well I ate a ton of cabbage last year and got a really nice paying job :)

It's more tradition than anything.
But it is oh-so-delicious!

My mom steams the cabbage with salt, pepper, and bacon (or ham).
I could eat the whole pot.
Seriously.

So go on...
Go eat you some cabbage and black eyed peas for money and luck :)

In other news (use your anchorperson voice for that one)....

Giveaway.
Here.
Tomorrow.
Be there.
You're going to love it.
Trust me.

Happy New Year!
