Linky Tools Issue

A question for my fellow bloggers who use linky tools for blog hops...

Do you ever run into the issue where if you post something on another blog (link up to their hop), your info ends up on your own blog hop and not theirs? It's weird and hard to explain but this happens often and I find myself going back and erasing my entries on my blog hops.

It's pretty annoying! So am I going crazy or does this happen to others too?

Not-So-Homemade Donut Holes & 10/27 What's Cooking Wednesday? Linky

So my mom has made these donut holes for us for as long as I can remember. And BOY, are they GOOD! They're SUPER EASY to make too :)

First, heat some vegetable oil in a pot, you only need about an inch or so of oil. A little tip to check if it's hot yet... wet your fingers then flick the oil. If it pops when the water hits it, it's hot enough.

Get a can of buttermilk biscuits. This is one of those recipes where it's perfectly fine to go generic :)

Cut each biscuit into quarters. One can will get you 40 donut holes.

Also, get a container with a lid and add some powdered sugar.

When the oil is hot enough, drop the biscuit pieces in one at a time in the oil. They may sink to the bottom but will quickly rise to the top.

They will expand so be sure not to overfill the pan.

Once they start to brown on the underside, flip them. Be careful about this. At first, they won't brown as fast but as the oil gets hotter they cook faster.

Once they are browned on both sides, remove them to a paper towel to drain.

Remember that powdered sugar? Place the hot donut holes in there, cover, and shake until coated.

And there you have it! Not-so-homemade donut holes :)

Mmmmm... so YUMMY! A BIG hit with my family and my mom would cook MASSIVE batches for Sunday School and there's NEVER anything left!

You could vary it up too! Cut centers out of the biscuits and you have regular donuts and donut holes :)

.........................................................................................

Alright my fellow bloggers... Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to share with us some ROCKING recipes!

I LOVE cooking and finding new recipes so I thought I'd start a linky specifically for finding new ones :)

Have a Happy Blog :)

Ok have you seen those Kotex tampon commercials? They have me ROLLING laughing! Check out my favorite:

"I like to twirl... Maybe in slow motion"

It doesn't get any funnier!

....................................................................................

Anyways, I wanted to share a few tips I have on how to have a happy blog :)

DISCLAIMER: This are my personal opinions. I don't mean to offend anyone :)

1. Avoid clutter. You know, you go to those blogs and they have an ad for everything, an app for everything, 5 bajillion buttons on the side bar. It's kinda annoying and hard on the eyes.

2. Don't put a bunch of stuff that slows your bandwidth. This kinda refers back to the first one. If you have a whole lot of stuff that has to load (pictures, music, videos, unnecessary stuff) then your readers have to sit and wait for the blog to load. Chances are, they aren't going to wait more than a few seconds.

3. Actually post stuff! I can't tell you how many blogs I happen across that want me to follow them and all they ever post is blog hop buttons. I mean, what's the point of following a blog if there's never anything to read?

4. Don't be afraid to let the creative juices flow! There are so many undiscovered talented people out there who are just bursting to share their ideas. I LOVE new crafts, recipes, and just great stories!

5. And lastly... Be yourself! I enjoy reading others' stories and finding other nutty people just like me ;)

So, do you have advice for your fellow bloggers?

How do you have a happy blog?

Leave your advice in a comment :)

Have a great week!

3. Jenna at The Frozen North recently made a decorated pumpkin... out of DUCT TAPE! That's right... I said duct tape! And it is SO cute!

4. Page at Thrifty, Nifty, and Wise has a to-die-for chocolate recipe! Really... it's called Death By Chocolate. And I love my chocolate :) Just look at this picture:

5. I love reading about K, from Big K Little A, and her Post It Notes posts... They are too funny! This one I relate to. When my brother was still at home, I swear him and my dad tried to see who can snore louder!

6. Karen at Pocket Full of Pink recycled an old juice can to make an adorable Halloween treat jar. I love that she turned something ordinary into something extraordinary and functional!

7. Christi over at More Then a Momma (who was also my most recent blog design giveaway winner) has a fun new look for Halloween... Love the header :)

8. Andrea at Keepin it Thrifty turned a boring old jar into a CUTE storage container for her glue sticks! I need this... we're always searching through drawers to find glue sticks.

9. Renee, from Om... And Then Some, posted some creative ways to get her picky kids to eat... You'll LOVE her ideas! Check one out using muffin tins:

10. Hannah at Young and Crafty decorated a pumpkin using Mod-Podge and scrapbook paper! What a creative and AMAZINGLY CUTE idea!

11. Suzy at Joy is at Home turned an old cabinet door into a BEAUTIFUL work of ART! It is so gorgeous! I really want to make one myself now!

12. Over at The Mama Report, she's, like, a SUPER shopper! Seriously! She got all of this for a mere $22.69! A savings of $44.50! Amazing isn't it?

Just 4 Fun Jewelry Etsy Shop

I had several people comment on the pearl earrings from my flower gift arrangement post last week.

I've been toying around with the idea for a while now, but I decided to open an Etsy shop to sell my mom's jewelry. I've listed a few of her handmade earrings to see if others are interested.

Here's the earrings we have listed:
