DIY Necklace Holder

In my bathroom, I normally just toss my necklaces and bracelets into a plastic storage box. And I don't know about you, but I just hate it when I'm in a hurry and go to grab one necklace and end up with this:

So I decided to make something to neatly hang my necklaces on.

I started with a wood block. I had recently found a pack of 20 blocks at Michaels for only 50 cents (90 % off!).

I spray painted the whole thing black. (Sorry... blurry picture)

Then I printed off the words in gold-ish color, in a font I liked with a black background and Mod-Podged it to the board. Then I gave the whole thing a nice coat of Mod-Podge. My printer started running out of black ink while I printed the words so the bottom of the paper has a lighter shade. Oh well. Then I took some Tulip Gold Metallic dimensional paint and wrote over the letters, then let it dry.

Then I installed a sawtooth hanger on the back. I had some leftover hooks from when I made the Key Rack. I used a drill bit to start the holes for the hooks on the front. I spaced them 1 inch apart starting 1/2 inch from the side. I ended up with seven hooks.

And then I hung it on my bathroom wall and accessorized!

I love it because I don't have to detangle necklaces every time I need one!

Have a great Tuesday :)

Great idea! I do the same tangled up thing with my necklaces and I agree it's annoying. Saw you at Tatertots and Jello.

I'm just dropping by from tatertots and jello. Very cute idea. Right now I use my closet door knob to hold my necklaces. This is a much better idea! I love it!

So simple, how cute. Your little glitter saying makes it even cuter. Another project I'd love to have, come on girl, link up, and keep me in mind next time you create all that fabulousness. :)
